I planned to visit few places around Cochin during my trip to Guruvayur with my family (3 adults with a kid) and searched internet for suitable accommodation. Though there were not many reviews available on affordable Ernakulam/Cochin hotels, based on intuition, I booked a room in Woodlands over phone. My budget was around Rs.1000 for a Non AC room.
The front desk was friendly and even changed room upon my request; fortunately alternate room was available. Staffs were cordial and attentive. I had a problem in having hot water (due to continuous rain, solar heater could not supply hot water) which was supplied separately. I would recommend them to have a separate heater available in rooms.
The food at restaurant was excellent though priced on the higher side. The ambiance was good, less noisy with traditional music which makes up the delay in serving food. Atleast this helps to have a relaxed meal with all family members! Overall I had a good experience and would recommend this hotel.
