WorldSpace Radio

Its a fantastic opportunity for all those who are new to this type of entertainment. About 5 years back I laid my hands on a Hitachi KH-WS1 radio which easy to use and low on maintenance.

Currently there are 3 models available with a price range from Rs 7000 - Rs 13000/-

which included the annual fee of Rs 1800/-

I had free service for a few years and later on I paid an annual fee of Rs 1200/- for receiving all the channels.

The music received covers most of the genres of music. Right from Pop to Jazz, alternative to new age and even afro beats. So its a great eye opener and great resource for those who are into music and love music played via your amplifier throughtout the day or even while at work and for those who are into news there is FoxNews, Bloomberg, CNN and BBC too.

The annual fee has now been increased to Rs 1800/- which pinches the pocket as one doesnt listen to a lot of music. I have an Ipod which takes care of my music requirements.

Then there is the internet which plays streaming audio of any genre. Which again is at a throwaway price of Rs 200 per month ( This is the cable connection charges I pay in mumbai for unlimited use)

I still love my radio however at the moment am not in the market to spend Rs 1800/-just for audio. And am searching hi and lo for a password for playing my Hitach for free. I am not sure if they exist but drop in a comment if you have one.

I can only wish the subscription becomes less expensive for the Indian audience.
