I have seen many reviews about world space satellite radio in this column. I will discuss point by point.1.Subscription charge is too high (Rs 1800 Per annum). To some extent it is true. But from my point of view if you want music and nothing but pure music without any disturbance from RJs then world space is best particularly for Hindustani, Carnatic music lovers .
I keep my world space speakers near my bed and AOL bhajans and Moksha music gives you a complete rest with peaceful soul stirring music.2.Service is poor. Yes true to some extent. Many of the dealers dont have any technicians who have proper knowledge. But for patch antenna you dont need any technician. It is enough antenna faces the clear sky (particularly in India). For Yagi antenna (if you are living in tall apartment buildings this is a must) it is the job of the technicians and once they get it correct no problem further.3. Customer care - From local dealers no help at all. But from world space office they reply promptly for any queries. 4.Quality of the set not good.
Wrong BPL Diva is reasonably good and I dont have any complaint on Remote control. I am using it for more than 5 years. 5. With proper FM transmitter attached (available in ebay for just rs 500 to 1000) to worldspace you can receive the music in any room by using any fm radio within the house without any wiring issues.6. Dont compare it with TV or FM Radio. Worldspace satellite radio is mainly meant for pure music lovers and not for ordinary folks who hear and enjoy noisy worthless FM talks.
