Worst service - even worse than banks!

My ordeal started when I received an SMS from World Space which read "Kindly avail your last chance to get a 2 month extension till 30th September 2008 on a 1 year renewal of World Space. Hurry. Offer closes 31st July 2007".  And accordingly, I renewed my subscription on 30th July 2007(World Space confirms this).  I raised a complaint on 11th August 2007 since I received the password only for a year(till 30th July 2008).  Despite repeated mails and calls my query was never answered.

For the last 2 weeks I have been getting calls asking me to renew my subscription - since it expires on 30th July 2007! I complained with their call centre - the person requested me to hold on for a week - and asked me to write the details in a mail to customercare@worldspace.com.  I promptly got a system acknowledgement - we will respond to you within 24 hours. Even after a week when I did not receive any reply, I checked with their call centre again.  The person who took my call earlier was apparently "on leave" and the call centre folks apparently do not have access to emails sent to customercare! I requested to speak to the manager there.  He promptly promised to "get back to me" within 24 hours.  It has been more than 3 days now.  In the intervening period, I received calls seeking my "feedback" on their service(I promptly rated them 1/10 . the lady said . "Thank You"!) and a call from an agent asking me as to the nature of the complaint I had with the receiver and signal! The call centre person also requested me to send a mail to india@worldspace.com.

Yesterday, when I rang up their call centre, the response was that "Your complaint has been closed - because we did not have such an offer!". The guy also had the gall to say that they currently have this offer of 2 months extension.  When I threatened that this was plain and simple CHEATING and that I could go to the consumer court, the response was that "Ok, you can do that!". After much haggling, he gave me the local branch office number.  The lady there simply refused that there was such an offer, but then offered to check with the "concerned department" and get back.  On my telling her that I still have the SMS stored in my phone and that either they could send someone to check this or I could go to their office . she arrogantly replied "You can come to our office!".  She too promised that currently there is this offer .! Finally, all I have is a mail from them saying "Apologies for the unpleasant experience . we are looking into the matter and will get back to you in 3-4 days"!

The only good thing about them is their Radio and everything else sucks . it is daylight robbery.
