I being an ardent Music afficianado love all kinds of Music especialy the Classical, Carnatic, Old Hind film songs especialy.So when I heard the World Space Music broadcasts at one of my friends place in Bangalore, I had made up my mind to buy it soon as possible.When I shifted to Delhi, the service was not yet available here, and subsequently when launched, I subscribed to it.
The price at which I subscribed was reduced to less than half within 2 months of my subscription. I felt maha cheated.Neverthless I was happy listneing to my favorite old Hindi film songs without any interruption or without any ads or without any of those funy antics of the RJs that ypu hear on all FM stations.Despite the relative inexperience and shallow knowledge of the RJs , I was enjoying the subscription till things started going wrong within 5-6 months of installation.The guy who had installed the set, was missing and there was no forwarding address. He vanished without a trace.E mail complaints received a standard pre-packaged reply which never went ny further than that.
No action took place. The radio went out of service for over 3 months.Finally I went into their Gurgaon show room and shouted my heart out. A technican came, pronounced the SET BPL-DIva as definct and took away the set for repairs. After 3-4 weeks, said it is irrepairable and the set has been asent back to BPL.New replacememt was given, new password took another 2 weeks. The adopter got blown out. New adopter given, that too went phut within next month. I bought a new one which too went Phus within 1 month.My complaint and emails went uinattended. Their office in Hauz Khas refuses to accept complaints. Call centre gals barely know anything. They want 16 digit password to be repeated ad-nauseum without which they wont log in your complaint. I did some more shouting.
The guy comes along after 2 months of Radio being out of sercvixe because of another defective adopter, even with a new adopter, the set does not work.He claims that the entire wire from set to roof antennae as well the antennae needs to be replaced. Asks for 1000+.What the hell is this? They provide such poor pieces of hardware and their service is attrocious.I would warn all potential customers of world space to be aware.I am taking Worldspace to Consumer court.Watch this space for more....
