I was thinking about getting World Space Satellite Radio subscription for a long time, but was undecided as I had read both good and bad reviews about it, but after a good long thought , I plunged into it, we got its subscription from recent India International trade fair, they are also giving a free diamond pendant along with it, we have not received it yet although.
The first practical problem arises if you live in ground floor as the reception is great if antenna is placed in south-east direction on terrace, if you live in a ground floor flat , you have to place it in front of your home at a height.Second problem is if you want to put it in your bedroom inside, they give a wiring cable, but warn that reception may not be good, so then you have to place it in the living room.Third problem, you need to have compatible music system for their stereo line-out, if you have a incompatible music system, you have to rely on your compatible TV speakers or buy a compatible music system or get an amplifier and then connect it to speakers.Fourth problem, some radio stations are still not functioning, they are encrypted.Some are set automatically, some have to be somehow brought out by using certain functions of remote, if those channels are your favorite, you really feel frustrated after spending 2100/-.The people who come for demo and installation are pathetic, you know better than them, they are untrained, don’t even know how to operate a mobile, leave alone radio and its remote.
I took this service for bhajan channels and old hindi songs, there are three spiritual channels namely Art of Living channel, Moksha and Sai global harmony.Two Hindi songs channels namely Farishta and Jhankaar.There are English song channels, news channels and regional channels too.
I am still retaining this service despite above mentioned problems as I am getting those channels which I wanted and sound quality is ok.
If you plan to take this service, do keep in mind above mentioned problems.
If there was a free to air bhajan channel, I certainly would not had taken this service, so there is a need for a free to air bhajan channel right now, i have heard many people have taken this service only for this purpose.
