We chose Wurfel believing it was the best in modular kitchens. This was meant to be a special gift for our mother and was one of the biggest investments in our new home. After finalizing our requirements, we were asked to sign a technical dossier, which we naturally assumed reflected everything we had discussed. Unfortunately, what followed was a series of serious disappointments:
Missing Breakfast Counter: Despite clear on-site markings, the breakfast counter was completely missing in the final delivery. Wurfel blamed an ex-employee for the oversight and claimed there was nothing they could do.
Incorrect Measurements: A significant section of the kitchen—a full cupboard unit—was left out due to faulty measurements. This was only rectified after numerous follow-ups and calls.
Unfair Charges: We were expected to absorb all shipment and installation delays. Yet, when we delayed the project by a few days, we were slapped with steep factory storage charges. The double standards were frustrating.
Countertop Disaster: We purchased the countertop stone directly from Wurfel’s recommended supplier to avoid their markup, and initially intended to use our own fitter. Wurfel refused to cooperate, forcing us to go with their recommended fitter—at nearly double the cost. That fitter completely botched the job: black marks on the white stone, poorly executed joints, discoloration along edges. Even Wurfel’s senior team, including the founders, admitted the stone was ruined. However, since we didn’t buy the stone through Wurfel, they refused to replace it—offering only to cover the installation cost. Their proposed solution? “Live with it for a few years and change it later.” Imagine moving into a brand-new home with a kitchen already damaged.
Post-Installation Silence: Once full payment is made—prior to delivery and installation—getting any post-installation support becomes a serious challenge. Communication is minimal, accountability is absent.
For something that cost nearly 15% of our total construction budget, this entire experience has been disheartening. While the material quality appears decent, the service, coordination, and professionalism of the Wurfel Goa team leave much to be desired. Proceed with caution.
