I was almost completely unprepared for the bleak, vengeful, perverse, and obsessive novel that this really is.
Not only Heathcliff and Catherine’s lives are all miserable but they seem to make everyone and everything around them miserable. These two creatures are violent and wild - which makes the book so dark, its beautiful! I like Ellen’s character how she was present everywhere all the time.
The book is addictive and yes, I absolutely recommend it for someone who likes classics(something like Gothic fiction).
Flipping through the pages was an amazing experience. A true contribution to the enthralling world of English literature. Undoubtedly a magnum opus of the writer.The elements of Gothic and macabre are fairly dealt with considering the contemporary times of Ellis. The association with the story is quite vibrant as you traverse through the pages. A true genius’s attempt to melange the plot, temper and nature of the characters. Talking about the product, it was quite great to receive such an amazing book at such a reasonable price
