X men 3 = review

Director: Brett Ratner X-Men 3: The Last Stand I would like to say that I am unhappy at the entire series of x men for always giving Cyclops the back seat to Wolverine. it’s actually a case of giving the spotlight to the most popular character instead of the best character. In this last film this is apparent from the very beginning, . Brett Ratner was the director for this third movie instead of Brian Singer who ran off to: Superman Returns.

I saw nothing wrong with his direction, but in my opinion, Singer’s direction seems a little cleaner, or maybe that’s just because this is generally a darker film. I will, however, point out one major annoyance in the very first scene of the movie. You may have seen the teaser of the DangerRoom scene with Logan taking on a Sentinel and Storm s in the background “Don’t do it Logan!” I would like to confirm that the actual scene in the movie is just as terrible as that teaser and Wolverine’s sudden appearance and obvious wire tricks was not edited in the slightest in the few weeks till now. That pretty much sums up the direction I suppose, passable with a few little obvious mistakes all is fine . And while obviously they sort of clash in the end, only one of the stories actually gets resolved. Then there is the dialogue: painful..

From the very beginning till the final scene we were bombarded with generic, uninteresting, words. The most vivid examples being Magneto’s final words “What have I done!?” and the Juggernaut’s “I’m the Juggernaut, BITCH!” Speaking of Magneto, I was also annoyed at the way that he was taken down. After the X-Men take the moral stance against the cure, arguing that “There’s nothing wrong with us” and making a point that the treatment is optional and that the Government is not forcing it on anybody guess how they beat Magneto. they dose him with the cure, when they simply could have punched Magneto in the face and avoided being idiots in first place The film was Not bad.

Of what I saw of Cyclops his scene was one of the best looking, the fire and power in his eyes beautifully contrasted to the lake. There were some pretty solid action scenes as is expected, particularly when Mags takes down a motorcade, Wolverine goes nuts in the woods and Iceman finally completely Icing up and head butting Pyro.

A director with a poor story backed up with some mediocre action. If you were a fan of the first two movies because of a love of these characters then check it out,
