Year 2010, it is turning point of my life because I have allotted to Xavier Institute of Engineering through MH-CET online admission system. Institute is located at Mahim. It is well connected by buses and western/central line trains. It is a part of a Mumbai university and AICTE approved. XIE offers B.E. in three fields - Information Technology(IT), Computer Engineering(CE) and Electronics & Telecommunications Engineering(EXTC). Also each stream has 60 students intake every year. I have completed bachelor degree(BE) in Computer Engineering, so I have just a bit idea about IT and EXTC departments. The faculty members of computer Engineering department are kind, helpful and very talented in their fields. They taught us, guided us and solved our queries about the studies. The lab assistants are also helpful but some of them shows unnecessary attitude to the students. The office staff is also good and helpful. The staff members will really screw if you have less attendance.
Coming back to the labs and the library, I would like to say that the infrastructure of the labs and library are good, equipped with latest devices and very well renovated. There are separate laboratories for each subject and for each field. The library that has ample reading material needed and provides an environment very conducive to serious study. The college has a huge workshop in the ground floor. It has a big open ground in the middle of the campus for various outdoor activities. The classrooms are very good and well ventilated. Washrooms are well renovated but still needs some basic cleanliness.
The students conducts many extracurricular activities, Techno events and Sports during the college cultural and technical festivals. Teachers are very supportive to the students up to same extent but the management staff is sort of don’t care in nature.
Canteen’s food is not of that quality and taste, but the seating arrangements are very good so you can have homemade food with friends. You need to visit outside restaurants for hanging out with the friends.
Lastly, I would like to say that it is very good institution to start your carrier with and it also provides ample of facilities and the environment of the college is very fresh as I have spent 4 years in this college. I am really missing this place and quality time after passing out from here.
