I had been actively using mi4 as my daily driver for about 7 months now.To start off this is an excellent device with great camera and picture viewing quality. Xiaomi as a brand had been actively and consistently performing at par than most of the more renowned high stakes brand in the market from sometime now. Mi4 device has great viewing angles and screen quality with clear animations and good ram management. Build quality is nice with power and volume rockers button on right side and touch control led lit capacitive buttons at the bottom. I haven’t experienced any lag or stutter on my device ever since the latest Miui 7 update.
Device runs kitkat 4.4 version in India now and the company has decided to give lollipop upgrade a skip and directly launch a marshmallow upgrade with another promising and inspiring Miui 8 upgrade in the following weeks of this month.
Device comes packed with 3 gb ram and 64 gb harddrive storage out of the box. Even after installing about 25 third party android apps inclusive of some heavy graphic intense games like mortal combat, Asphalt 8 and modern combat 5 this device still performs lagfree and delivers about a full day of battery life with more than moderate usage easily.
Sound quality is average but what can you expect from a device with pricetag as such.
Overall no issues with heating during heavy gaming and rocking performance throughout makes this device one of the best contenders among budget phones available in India today.
Pop ups of menu and other transitions animations somehow represents apple design line which is probably why Xiaomi has earned a cheeky new nickname as being The Chinese Apple.
