Xiaomi is known for making good smartphone at a very attractive price point for the consumers but this phone is atleast is not the phone I would recommend to the consumers.
Looking at the Key Features:
-
1) 5 inch 1080p IPS display.
2) Octa-Core processor with Adreno 405 GPU.
3) Dual-SIM dual-standby.
4) 13Mp autofocus primary camera with dual LED flash.
5) 3120 mAh battery.
6) Android 5.0.2 with MIUI v6.0.
7) 16GB built in storage.
8) 1080p video recording capability.
Disadvantages:
-
1) No NFC.
2) Non-removable battery.
3) No memory expansion.
4) Only available online.
As it is true that consumer should never judge an smartphone by looking at the specification it provides rather the user experience is very important. As it is in the case of this phone the Xiaomi Redmi Mi 4i. Its specification looks good on paper considering the price point but the real user experience is something different.
1) Coming to the processor it uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset-its an Octa-Core Cortex-A53 CPU with 1st four clocked at 1.7GHz and the next four clocked at 1.0GHz. This chipset has been used in many smartphones and the results are that it exhibits overheating in normal usage also as it the same in case of Xiaomi remi Mi 4i and it heats up quite a lot and its unbearable. Its temperature rises as much as 49 degree Celsius which is very hot in deed.
2) Its battery life it though uses a 3, 120 mAh battery but this phone is needed to charge two times a day with the normal usage which is very disappointing for the consumers.
Verdict:
-
The Battery life and a good performance with limited heating issue what a consumers need before buying an smartphone but this smartphone doesnt live upto the expectation of the consumers. It fails in both the key department 1) the battery life 2) the heating issue.
This is not justified keeping the price point into consideration and compromising on this key features which is primary need for the consumers .So I would not recommend this smartphone .
