First of all dont worry about the brand because mi is now launching their phones and tablets globally and it going to rock the world. Everyone is thinking that Chinese companies are not manufacturing good products but reality is not that. Xiaomi mi pad is vary futuristic and value for money. If someone provides you same features in half of price of others than why you spend on those just for brand name.
So my recommendation is just go for it.
