I have used Redmi 2 Prime for almost 3 months and here are my impressions about the smartphone.
Pros:-
Good build quality.
Good form factor - 4.7 inch display is just enough for a lot of people who have small hands, sleek, slim and good to hold in the hands.
Excellent display with good touch sensitivity.
Excellent UI(MIUI) - elegant, thoughtful and well designed.
Dual SIM with LTE support.
Nice camera quality.
Battery lasts for more than a day after full charge.
Decent performance with 2 gb RAM, 16 gb internal storage and Micro SD card support.
Cons:-
(issue faced and fixed)
During the first few days of use, I used to get frequent "No service available" error, which was abnormal. Looking through the SIM card settings, I found that Preferred Network type is set by default as LTE(4G) and my service provider has not started 4G in my area. It seems that, in the effort to locate a non-existent 4G service the device had some hick-ups and dropped the signals. Changing the settings to 3G solved the problem. I have seen some other customer reviews where the signal problem was mentioned. I would suggest everyone to choose the "Preferred Network Type" correctly. In case you are travelling out of town, the best would be to choose 2G.
Overall:-
Excellent value for money. I like the fixed price, no-nonsense approach of Xiaomi. Also one should realize that many other mobile manufacturers are spending crores on advertisements, which indirectly is paid for by the users! Hope, Xiaomi will be able to grow by word-of-mouth publicity and continue to provide best value for money.
