I bought the Xiaomi Redmi 2 Prime a couple of months back via the companys official website. The time it took to be delivered was within a week or so. The quality of components was pretty good. The box was of pretty good quality too, very rigid. Inside the box, one gets the battery, documentation, user guide and the device itself. Initially, the device was way too light in weight which is quite astonishing. But it feels a bit heavy after popping the battery in. The size is very compact and one can easily operate it with a single hand, The compactness and the features that it packs in drew me into getting this device.
The most important aspect of a phone for me and the first priority is the software of the particular handset. That is how the software works in conjunction to the hardware. And this is my prior reason to get this device. The software works flawlessly with the hardware. The RAM / memory management is quite praiseworthy. One gets 1.4 GB free RAM after the first boot, but after a couple of weeks, one gets 1.2 GB of free RAM and its consistent after that. Its quite astonishing for a SUB 7k device to perform really well. The WOW factor was how well did it perform in games! Although it was not the smoothest of gaming experiences, the frame rates were quite consistent throughout. It runs a custom skin on top of Android 4.4.4 KitKat called MIUI.
This is the ROM I was looking for, as I am a pretty heavy user, it offers all features that a heavy user demands. The rear camera was quite impressive but the front camera was depressive. The battery life was pretty crazy. I was able to squeeze a full day out of it. But, with normal usage, it lasts for a couple of days too!
