I have been using the Note 5 Pro for about 2 months now as my second phone. Previous to this I owned a Note 4 which I loved. This phone is no exception.
The Good:
In typical Redmi fashion - design language is executed well without the notch but a longer screen aspect ratio.
That said - there is nothing which this phone does better than the Note4. I feel the Note4 had a slightly better battery backup although the battery capacity remains same. Performance wise - I dont have any complaints & the Pro will fly through anything you throw at it. The 4gb ram is adequate to handle everyday tasks. There is no heating issue. The SD 636 is power efficient & can handle games or resource intensive apps like video editing - easily. No fuss or drama.
The battery easily lasts over a day. The screen is pretty decent - the colors are punchy & somewhat accurate. The camera is pretty solid for this price point. Dual camera works well together & produce good photos. One of the better dual cameras under 20k out there.
The Bad:
Durability has been the Achilles heel for MI is the past & it continues. A simple drop will break the front screen or crack the camera lense protector. I mean the glass on the frame which protects the camera. A good quality tempered glass from front & camera is recommended.
Software updates will be slow.
For the price - there is nothing that this phone does wrong. At the same time - its 2018 & it doesnt do much to set itself apart from the crowd.
