Upon first impression, the Redmi Note 5 Pro does look like a Redmi Note 5 / Redmi 5 Plus with its 5.99-inch Full HD+ 18: 9 display. However, the Redmi Note 5 Pro sports a selfie-centric 20-megapixel Sony IMX376 front camera.
From a side view angle, you have the power button, volume controls found on the right side of the phone, and the SIM card and MicroSD card slot on the left. the camera bump of the Redmi Note 5 Pro is very noticeable when viewed by the side, and we’d definitely recommend a case to protect the camera module from bumps and scratches.
As for the camera, things start to get different for the Redmi Note 5 Pro. Instead of a center mounted camera, you have a vertically-arranged dual rear camera setup found on the left side of the phone. The layout is reminiscent of the iPhone X, with the flash tucked in between the two camera lenses. You have a 12-megapixel Sony IMX 486 primary, and a 2-megapixel Samsung secondary camera that functions more as a depth sensor.
Like the Redmi Note 5 / Redmi 5 Plus, you have a rear mounted fingerprint scanner on the Redmi Note 5 Pro.
