This phone is a best option if you dont want to spend amount for a mobile but you can have the real and fast HD performance without any lags. It comes with a powerful 1.5GHz MediaTek CPU and 1GB RAM with power VR SGX544 GFX chip which can deliver extreme graphics performance for high end games and HD movie playback. There are lot of drawbacks and advantages for this phone.
Lets go one by one:
1.Design and style: Its sleek and comes with a dimension of 147.00 x 72.10 x 6.98 (mm) and 5inch display. But the design and build quality is not much attractive cant be compared with the well known brands. The power button and its position is not convenient also the position of speaker which gets covered if we keep on desk.
2.Display: The phone has a better resolution 5-inch IPS display at a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixel at 294 PPI pixel density. The display is based on one-glass solution (OGS) technology that minimizes the phone’s thickness by reducing the air gap between the touch sensor, display and the cover glass. The display is bright and has great viewing angles. Even though the phone features a ambient light sensor that automatically controls the screen’s brightness based on the lighting, the outdoor visibility is not impressive. also the picture depth is not much impressive
3.Performance and power usage: The phone is powered by a quad-core MediaTek 6589T processor clocked at 1.5 GHz with PowerVR SGX 544MP2 GPU. As per my observation the Mediateck CPUs consumes less power and delivers a satisfactory performance too. Also less costly. As far as I checked in reviews it gives comparably high benchmark scores among the same range devices. The 2500 mAh battery is good enough to give a backup upto 2 days in powersaving mode.
4.Camera: The 13MP front camera is good for outdoor snaps. If you use inside room it wont deliver that much clarity due to lack of sunlight. It has Back Side Illumination (BSI) 2 sensor, but the day light and the low-light images were below average. Overall its below average and you have to compromise with the picture clarity and sharpness. The flash is perfect, which lights up at the correct time. The video quality is average and is not bright. Since the phone has a secondary microphone the audio is crisp. The video is too sharp The Electronic image stabilization (EIS) uses software enhancements to minimize blurring and device shake.
The other main drawbacks of this phone are:
Below average camera performance.
Single full size SIM card slot.
- No expandable memory card slot.
Conclusion:
Overall, the Xolo Q1000S is a decent product in the range of 14k. It has good display, has a slimmer body with good build and is powered by a faster quad-core processor. The camera could be better and the phone lacks a memory card slot. I can rate 3 out of 5. If you are looking for low budget a phone with a slim design and good display, but can compromise on the camera and the micro SD slot, go for it.
