Avoid Xolo Q900

I had purchased a Xolo Q900 smartphone online, after going through several reviews of the product. The phone has excellent specifications for the price it charges, and on paper it looks totally like a value for money investment.

We received the phone a couple of days after ordering it. Initially everything seemed great. The phone’s build quality was quite good, despite having all plastic removable back. The user interface was smooth and speedy  (Android 4.2.2), and no lags were observed. Camera picture qualiy was decent - not great but not bad either. Screen display quality and brightness was also satisfactory. It had a 1800 mAh Lithium-Polymer battery, which of course seemed adequate.

However, after a couple of days of using the phone, it turned out that there were some serious problems with it. The first being that the Li-Po battery would take over two hours to charge, and then would last for just over four hours even with basic usage! What use is a phone, howsoever good the specifications and hardware, if the battery doesn’t even last for half a day!

The second problem, however, was much more critical - the phone was switching off on its own occasionally, even when there was adequate battery charge. This happened twice in just two days!

This was simply unacceptable to us, and we decided to return the phone while there was still time. Thankfully, the online portal from where we purchased the phone had a return policy and we were able to get a complete refund for the phone.
