I needed a smartphone that had the capability to keep pace with my super-busy and fast life - keeping a healthy balance of work and play - track emails, chat, facebook, long calls and conferences, ability to click & manage good resolution photos, and ahh - a 3.5mm audio jack. Among phones, I never bought anything other than Nokia, Samsung or Sony Ericsson. On popular feedback from good friends, I bought this XOLO X910 on 13 August 2013 from Kolkata EMall. Initial few days went familiarizing with the touchscreen and android environment (this is my first smartphone). After 3-4 days I was almost adept with all the features & functionality and all set to get the juice out of this droid.
The phone is an excellent piece of hardware. The 1.6Ghz Intel Atom Z2460 processor coupled with 1GB RAM and 4GB Internal Memory never leaves me feeling short of processing power - whether I am working on 4 business email boxes, 1 GMail, watching streaming videos, gaming, chatting over Facebook ... even all at once. Multitasking is a breeze with this device. Download speeds are excellent, over Wi-Fi, 2G or 3G.
On the software front, it is a feature-packed standard Android ICS 4.0.4 - no complaints there. The Google+ app crashing at times, will get it sorted out as soon as possible.
Only problem I have faced is with the hands-free operation (I am not yet sure if the problem is with the phone 3.5mm socket or with the hands-free).
Right from the day#1, I am facing a problem with the phone as follows:
As soon as I connect the hands-free jack to listen to either Fm radio or Music from the phone, the FM radio and the music player behaves erratically. The FM radio stops suddenly, and starts again - then again stops & starts on its own. The music player app automatically changes between "Play", "Pause", "Play" ... and so on. Over the hands-free, I hear a crackling sound in the left earpiece (on which the inbuilt microphone is present). If the hands-free jack is not connected, the handset is running fine.
I have written to XOLO Care, and am planning to visit the dealer soon if they do not respond quickly enough.
