This review is for the Bannergatta Rd branch. I haven’t visited the one in Indira Nagar.
In my 2 visits to this place, some things stand out. The management at Xtreme Sports Bar is RUDE. It starts with the managers and percolates to the serving staff. They are not accommodating or flexible. They cut you out with terse responses and always seem to be run operations with a an ulterior motive.
The music sucks. Agreed its a sports bar and people come to watch sports. But if you have the TV volume turned off, might as well play good music.The drinks are not that great. Normally a pitcher in any pub in the city serves 4 pints. Here it serves 3 and some more. Of course, it costs the same as at any high end pub. The drought is better though and not as watered down as we find in other places.
Overall, the prices are high and I don’t like paying that price when the people there bug me off.
Another big concern, is the smoking area. Its badly ventilated. So they keep the door open, allowing the smoke the spread across the whole place. BAD. When I complained, I was told to accept it. No apology. Nothing.
So why would I go here? One, because this is the closest place to home. And that’s true for a large chunk of the Bangalore crowd which stays in BTM, JP Nagar and other parts of South Bangalore. Two, because I like sports and nothing like watching an IPL match or a F1 race on a big screen with a noisy crowd and beer. So looks like they are taking undue advantage of their location.They serve decent dinner and starters but I found the taste too salty for comfort.
Another word of caution. Discovered that they do not have a normal stair case for entry/exit. In case of a Carlton Tower scenario, this is a death trap. They might have service stair case though. So if its not the sports you enjoy, use this as your last resort.
