Yaadein : The next movie from the so called Showman of the film industry Subhash Ghai is about relationship of father and his three daughters.Subhash Ghais movie are visually appealing and very slickly made ones..His last one Taal was a superhit with some fabulous music by the master composer A.R.Rahman, God know why he didnt repeat Rahman for Yaadein cause I am sure he would have done a very good job.... Anywayz this time he opted for Anu Malik to compose the music of the movie and sure he has done a good job too.The album boasts of some cool tracks and some average numbers, To start with......
Alaap is the first song, better say an alaap which is beautifully rendered by Sunidhi Chauhan
Yaadein Yaad Aati Hain is what I can say the best track of this album which will go down as one of the most memorable songs in the history of film industry, beautifully sung by Hariharan who is surely a master at such soulful numbers. You surely would love to listen to this number over and over again.
Jub Dil Miley is a peppy track, just one of those normal hindi numbers sung by Asha Bhosle, Udit Narayan, Sukwinder Singh & Sunidhi Chauhan. Sukhwinders voice is the highlight of this song
Chamakti Shaam Hai is another song which every youngster will like, a cool number with some very good music and beats to go with it
beautifully sung by Sonu Nigam & Alka Yagnik.
Eli Re Eli reminds you of A.R.Rahmans music, the way Anu Malik has used the sound of Payal jhankar and other musical pieces are quite reminisant with A.R.Rahmans music. The highlight of the song is the rythm in which all the singers have sung this track. Justice done by Kavita Krishnamurthy, Subramaniam, Alka Yagnik & Hema Sardesai
Kuchh Saal Pehle sung by Hariharan again is an below average song which spoils the mood of the album, a let down
Aye Dil-Dil Ki Duniya Mein by Sneha Pant and K.K. is a sad number which is also a ok number with good https://lyrics. The highlight of this song is the music and the way K.K has sung the song.
Yaadein Yaad Aati Hain repeated again but this is the female version with altogether different lyrics, another song which you will cherish sung by Sunidhi Chauhan & Mahalaxmi Iyer.
Chanda Tare an another Sukwinder Singh treat, excellent lyrics and beautifully sung together with Kavita.K and Subramaniam.Excellently rendered.
The album ends with the theme music which has been orchestrated beautifully by Anu Mailk, Worth a listen.
Yaadein above all is an very good album which will grow on you as you listen to it, Anu Malik has excelled in music and if u compare this to his previous albums, you will sure agree. Go for it if you have the patience and can give it a good hearing. you will love it.
Now the movie review...........
Naghme hain, shikwe hain,
Kisse hain, baatein hain,
Baatein bhool jaati hain,
Yaadein bhi bhool jaati hain
Yaadein Yaadein Yaadein according to me there are two types of yaadein, one is when you remember makes you happy and one which makes you sad, this one will surely make you sad and you will think how can a showman like Subhash Ghai make such a crap, showman bullshit, I know I am being critical but I also know you will feel the same when you watch the movie for yourself, cause I wasted 3 plus hours of such stuff and came out with an headache, but then the comments made by viewers during the movie and while leaving the theatres also made me laugh and according to me that was the plus point of the movie, a laughter here and there, rest was MENTAL TORTURE . You can judge by the reaction of the viewers how the movie is going to fare, if the movie is good it keep the viewers engrossed and if it is like Yaadein you see people getting creative and comments like SUPERFLOP, BETTER GET OUT OF HERE, I AM BEING MENTALLY TORTURED, PAKAU, SHITS MAN, THIS MOVIE SUCKS and many more creative outputs from our aam jaanta or you see the crowd moving out and refreshing themselves or sometimes holding there head and cursing themselves, these were the scenes I actually saw while I was watching Yaadein, though I have completely forgotten the movie, scenes such as these will lingers in my Yaadein for sometime.
Now to get to the real thing and tell you about the movie....hmmmmm...what should I tell you I dont seem to remember anything, infact even if I remember I would not like to talk about it, but to put it in a brief, the movie revolves around Raj Singh Puri(Jackie Shroff ) and his three daughters, Kareena Kapoor is Isha Singh Puri, the youngest daughter, Avni Vasa is Avantika Singh Puri, the eldest daughter, Himani Rawat is Sania Singh Puri, the middle one who is a rebel, and then there is Ronit played by Hrithik Roshan who shares a cool friendship relation with Jackie and is quite close to Kareena, Hrithik runs fews Dotcoms like Dosti.com, Mohabbat.com, Shadee.com and then there is CDGURU.COM which is actually.....and I mean actually the brainchild of Subhash Ghais daughter Meghna Ghai and she has used this movie to market the site be there no actual relation of the site to the movie. JUST DO IT is the motto here even if it does not relate to movie and leaves the viewers puzzled.PUBLIC KA KYA HAI APNA TO KAAM HO RAHA HAI NAA is what Subhash Ghai must have thought........
Now the story of the movie which I think really dosent exist....the movie just goes on and on and on, Jackie lives with his three daughters, he has a friend in Anang Desai who plays Hrithiks father and is a wealthy bussinessman who cannot devote time for his son so Hrithik develops a close bond with Jackie and his daughters and also get one of the daughters married via his dotcoms and then one day while on trip saves Kareena and falls in love with her and she also reciprocates and with some ups and downs and family oppositions the story goes on and finally uffffffffffff finally they get together and both family and lovers unite........You get a feeling when the movie will end throughtout the whole movie cause the movie is to stretched and devoid of moments which usually you get to see in a Subhash Ghai movie...
Subhash Ghai has devoted the whole movie to some big corporate branding which includes Coca Cola(Coke), Pass Pass(mouth freshner), Hero Honda and of course his daughters dotcom CDGURU.com like I mentioned before and the commercialisation of the movie actually irritates you.
Coke yeh hai, Coke woh hai, Pass Pass, Pass Pass, Pass Pass, Pass Pass, Pass Pass, Pass Pass it goes on and on. must say while making the movie he was thinking about how to make money with corporate branding and completely lost track of the story and made a crap called Yaadein.
Coming to the plus points of the movie, sure there are and they are the performances of Hrithik, Jackie and Kareena, all the way the movie belong to Hrithik, he excels in his performance be it dances or emoting a love or serious scene to perfection, watch out for the spoof on Jim Carrey which he has done to perfection..., Jackie comes up with a polished performance after a long time, flawless stuff, Kareena looks cool and is impressive throughout the movie, Rest of the cast delivers an average performance.
The negative point of the movie is Subhash Ghai and his direction and the way of story telling, He surely has lost his touch and goes overboard in everything he does, be it the duration of the movie or the picturisation of the songs or the visuals in the movie. The movie drags on and on, he could have done away with atleast 1/2hr of the movie.
Watch the movie for Hrithik, Kareena and ofcourse Jackie...........rest is crap......and forget the review if you dont like it cause I wrote it just because I had to get the yaadein of Yaadein out of my system.
