Well! Where do I start?
About 2 and half years back, One nice winter evening, I was sitting in my house, lonely and wondering what to do. I started surfing the net and lo! and behold! I discovered Yahoo!
Started chatting then, still haven’t completed, maybe I never will! Yahoo’s come a long long way from then.
It was fun to chat with unknown people in the beginning, in addition to chatting with known people.
As written chat started becoming cumbersome, there came voice chat, plug in you headphones, your mic and there you go! YM is not just for chatting! I created my portfolio for stock watch, my preference for news!
Then came net2phone-yahoo collaboration. And it was FREE. We could call any telephone number to US and talk for free for hours, unbelievable!!(Then this free service discontinued down the line, it is a paid service)
Well, video conference became a day to day THING. Over yahoo, with just a webcam we could accomplish what earlier was possible with expensive equipments!
But, still as a strong thread that goes all thru’, written chat holds it’s own charm and yahoo is definitely enhancing that feature too. For one it is the IMvironment, the smileys/emoticons, autoarchive of chat messages, the alerts especially the BUZZ, the timestamps...
well well well, thats my 2 cents, go ahead yahoo, explore and enjoy.
After that evening, life was never the same again!
