What a nightmare. When I signed up with Yahoo chat, you are encouraged to download their messenger to talk to people online. Which seems fair enough. I downloaded the messenger and thought nothing of it.
I, spend alot of time at the computer, due to work and study. When I was doing some research, Private messages kept on popping up on the screen the first two were annoying, but after about ten or twelve people private messaging me, I was quite distressed. As it had only been about an hour or so into me downloading the Yahoo Messenger.
I, contacted Yahoo help, and they said they would help me. But, private messages kept popping up. It would have been ok, but I use the computer for work mainly, and the people messaging seem to want to speak to me, and I had never spoken to them before.
After a couple of weeks, I was advised to remove the software and thank-fully the problem stopped.
It was a good service offered by Yahoo, but just a word of warning people who you do not know can message you. I thought only those on your friend’s line could message it seems not so, anyone can, as when you go online they know.
I didn’t have such a good experience of it, which doesn’t particularly mean you won’t but be warned of getting strangers wanting to speak to you, and if you share your computer, it could be others who can chat on your ID. I thought only when you signed in to Yahoo did you go online, but even when I was not signed in, messages were popping up with my ID on.
