You go in and pick a screen name and place your ad. Those reading it can respond to you and they do not know what your e-mail address is so this keeps that private until you are ready to reveal your e-mail address and you can write back and forth from the yahoo site. Yes you will hear from some perverted people but you can just delete them.
I have met many nice men this way also and made some good friends a long the way. When you place your ad it will ask you for some infromation about yourself and things you like, what you are looking for in a mate and so on. It takes up to 24 hours for your ad to appear once you place it and it will run for 30 days at which time you have the option to renew it or to just let it run out. I have gotten more responses from this site than any other that I have placed an ad on and you do not have to be online to get these messages. They come as regular e-mails.
However if you have yahoo instant messenger and wish to speak with some of these people you can add each other and go there to chat to find out more about them. As with any dating service use caution in giving out your address or phone number until you are sure you trust this person. If some one wants to call I will usually ask for their phone number and make the first call myself. It can be a lot of fun so if you are looking for romance, to date or just some one to be friends with I urge you to try this out.
