Something free that is worth having

Before joining Yahoo Mail I was advised to get a hotmail account. If you know me, which you probably don’t and never will, you will know that I am the type of person who does exactly the opposite that everyone suggests. I like to be different you see. Since joining yahoo auctions I have probably persuaded at least ten other people to join as well. It’s useful to have your friends using yahoo e-mail because they tell you when your friends are on line. If you all have yahoo instant messager you can use that too. I haven’t managed to get that far yet. It’s very easy to set up an e-mail account with Yahoo. There aren’t a great deal of questions. I’ve set up that many accounts for people that I can do it in a couple of minutes now and you can start using it straight away.

Of course the best part about having your e-mail account with yahoo is that you can check it from any computer. I like to be able to check my e-mail address at work so that I don’t have twenty to answer when I get home. Some e-mail providers don’t allow you to attach things to your e-mail. With yahoo you can attach up to three items per e-mail. If you need to send more than three attachments send more e-mails! I have found that it takes quite a while to attach anything to an e-mail when you are using yahoo. It’s almost instant with Outlook Express but sometimes takes ages with yahoo. You can save all of you address in your yahoo e-mail account. You can also set up as many different e-mail groups as you need to. As well as storing the e-mail address you can store all of the person’s personal details as well. I think this is pretty much standard with any e-mail account though?

If you insist on using Outlook you can arrange for your yahoo e-mails to go into Outlook but I think that yahoo have set out the account very well and made it very easy to use. A bad point now! You can’t save the e-mails you are sending and you can’t view them once you have sent them. You will just have to have a good memory! I have had my yahoo account ever since I started using the internet, some years now (I’m getting old) and although I haven’t used any other e-mail provider to compare yahoo with I won’t be changing to anyone else. If it isn’t broke – don’t fix it. Is that a Cornish saying????
