Yamaha Ray gets its life from 113cc, air-cooled, four-stroke engine that comes mated to an automatic transmission system. The SOHC, 2-valve mill churns out a net power of 7bhp at 7, 500rpm with a peak torque of 8.1Nm at 5, 000rpm. Moreover, it comes assisted with Yamaha’s Blue Core engine technology that ensures a better combustion and cooling efficiency, besides a decent fuel economy of 66kmpl as claimed by the manufacturer.


The carbureted engine has a bore x stroke ratio of 50mm x 57.8mm and uses CDI(Capacitor Discharge Ignition) as its default ignition unit. With this arrangement, Yamaha Ray attains an acceleration of 0 to 60kmph in 12 seconds and hits a top speed of 86kmph Yamaha Ray has a powerful multi reflector 12V-35/35W headlight that illuminates the streets well in dark and low light conditions. The twin rear view mirrors notifies the rider of any incoming traffic approaching from behind.


The durable 130mm drum brakes fitted at the front and as well as rear works fine in all conditions and proves their worth well in case of an emergency.
