Alpha !

With the promising mileage of 62km/l Yamaha Alpha is heating up the road with its looks, design, performance and storage space making their claim, concrete, as a family scooter. In this article we will look into depth with a 360 degree view to judge Alpha.

Looks & Design: Claiming to be a family scooter Yamaha has changed the appearance of Alpha from its previous scooter Ray and Ray-Z. The scooter is well designed not so bold rather more decent. The headlight coming above, large and comfortable seat that is smooth to ride in the city. The storage capacity which is 21 liter is the most talked about feature as it saves us from carrying extra baggage to the market and actually create sense to be a family scooter.

Engine performance & efficiency: The engine is powered by 113cc air cooled with continuously variable transmission provides smooth acceleration. It is not the fastest scooter on the street but family scooter is not meant to be one.

Ride quality:  The light weight of 104 kg and smooth handling makes it a comfortable ride especially in the streets and in the traffic. It has safe and secure ride with telescopic forks and firm suspension.  If compared to competition like Activa and Maestro they are more powerful as a ride but Alpha is decent though. Verdict: The claim of Yamaha Alpha to be the family scooter justifies with the features they have added. The generic feature like mileage looks and performance on which it stands well but apart from it where Alpha wins over other is the storage capacity which 21 liter.
