I was looking to replace my aging Activa. Went scooter shopping. Contenders were Activa, Wego, Yamaha, Vespa & Access. New activa was good with better mileage and some trustworthy engine as I was having this for close to 10years.
I thought of changing the brand and went to Yamaha showroom at CMH road. The place was filled with new bikes and scooter. Got into the showroom had a look at the vehicle. New Alfa looks flashy, new choice o f colors. Went up to the sales guy and asked for a test drive as the scooter was new kid in the block.
The sales guy asked me to wait for 10 mins. I sat down checking the figures, price, performance & comparing with segment leaders. After some time the guy said the vehicle has gone for a test drive and would take some time. I was ready to wait and told him that I shall wait. The guys tone changed and told me the vehicle would come in the evening. By now I had made up to move on to the next brand.
Thanks Yamaha for helping me choose the right brand. Just had a thought, if the sales team was so screwed up, how would the services would be. Went for Jupiter, sales guy too friendly but had large back orders. He said it would take about 2 months which I could not wait. Wego was ready and is a great bike. I did not go for Wego because of pillion seating comfort. Jupiter had fixed this problem.
Went back to Honda with the final decision to go for age old Activa once again.
