I bought Yamaha Crux from pearl yamaha, Kukatpally, Hyderabad yesterday(14th June, 2010). I got this bike for Rs. 41, 500/- onroad, which includes 1 year insurance, temporary registration, life tax and accessories. I dont have good experience in riding a bike. Just twice or thrice I rode my friends bike...So, I wanted a bike on which I can learn how to ride a bike and that to a first hand motorcycle...
The reason why I chose this bike:
- I wanted a beginnerss bike
2.Crux is priced very low
3.I like its looks when compared to splendor plus..
- Finally becoz its yamaha..
since this is second day of my bike...i just put 3 litres petrol in my bike..and petrol bunk wala asked me whether engine oid also need to add ...I said no....please tell me when to add engine oil(I mean how frequent)...and also do I need to mix engine oil with petrol in petrol tank or any separate container for that??
Dear mouthshut users, kindly suggest me how to maintain my bike since I am new to motorcycle riding....
Thanks in advance,
Srikanth
Review after 1st service
1st Service of my crux is completed Yesterday(14th July, 2010).
Till first service, I got around 52 Kmpl mileage. I will fill petrol only from Indian Oil petrol bunk. I used to maintain 25ps in front tyre and 35ps in rear tyre irrespecive of with pillion (or) without pillion.
Service center guys in Pearl Yamaha, Kukatpally took190 Rupees for engine oil + 30 Rupees for miscelleneous charges( I dont know whatthey meanmiscelleneous).
After first service, pickup of my bike is increased especially in 1st and 2nd gears( may be they have changed rpm settings..dont know exactly).
After first service also, I need to use choke morning times to start my bike irrespective of climate conditions. I had reported the same to the service center guys. One of the guys in the service center told me its not a problem, its normal behavior. Some other guy told me to kick start the bike 5 times without turning on the ignition key. After kick starting 5 times, he told to turn on the ignition key and kick start the bike without using the choke. He said it will resolve the problem, but I didnt try this since I am afraid whether it will do harm to my bike. Please advice me what to do.
Every other thing is fine with my crux...
Review after 2nd service
2nd service is done on 14th Sep, 2010. Odometer clocked 1274 KM on that date.
I am getting 64KMPL mileage after second service. I used to drive between 50 to 60 KM speed most of the time.
Till now I have no complaint on my bike.
Tyres are having very good grip with the rood, they saved me lot of times in the rainy season.
Superb balancing. very easy handling.
Zero virbation till 75KM speed(this is the max speed I have touched so far in the hyderabad city traffic...waiting for a chance to touch 90KM speed ..lets see...)
The cons in my perspective for a cummuter bike like crux are:
No fuel indicator
No electric start
It is a best value for money bike...one can go for it without any ambiguity in mind....
Review after 3rd service
3rd service done on 13th Nov, 2010. Odometer clocked 2144KM on that date.
I am getting mileage between 62 to 67 KMPL. pickup also good..
No complaints at all ......
Review after 5th service
5th service is completed on April 2nd, 2011. I finished 4570KM by that day.
No complaints at all....
About mileage -
if I get petrol from Indian Oil, mileage is 63-65KMPL and if I get petrol from HP, mileage is 66-70KMPL.
and my driving habbits...mostly I used to drive in 4th gear..23KM per day...the speedometer needle used to swing between 55 to 70KMPH.
Now after summer started, morning starting problem has gone...no need to use choke at all !!
I have one question for Crux owners....just one month back, I had the front wheel wobbling problem and I corrected it through the local mechanic. Normally if the road is empty, just for a few seconds I used to leave my hands off the handle bar...its not for showing my bravery, but for checking any wobbling is there. If I leave my hands off the handle bar at speeds equal to 60KMPH, my handle bar will slightly shake. Is it common for Crux since its very light weight? or its because of wobbling?
Thanks
