To start with bikes, Yamaha Fazer is my third bike. I had a Pulsar 180 and an Apache RTR 160 before. both were second hand bikes. Because of the wear and tear of old bikes, I decided to get a new bike for myself.
I never need bikes with huge top speed but a bike which can run in high speed quite smoothly and also for a long time. I need big tyres and good brakes. The bike should have a good engine which should be dependable. And the built quality should also be good.
After checking KarizmaR and Pulsar 220, I had settled for Fazer. Though I still consider KarizmaR was also a good option.
So I bought my Fazer for 85k, on 2nd August 2012. Because of its head, initially I had to be careful while riding. But the thing that struck me was how comfortable I am. U can not believe it, unless u ride it. It will make you far more comfortable while riding. The problem I face is with the speed brakes. They touch the middle stand of the bike and it is really annoying.
I took the bike for a long drive for 400 km in a day. The bike was fantastic.though i had a pillion, it was cruising at 100 km per hour. I did not feel vibrations nor I had pain in my hands. The lights are not very powerful and I am planning to replace it with hid lights. Maintenance is never a big issue. But you have to keep the chain clean.
I recommend this bike to those who dont want to race but want to have a stylish, comfortable and confident ride.
