30/8/2020 was the date I purchased this BS6 Newly Launched bike at a Price which eventually the Company reduced by 20, 000 after a few months.
Loved the Initial Pickup and refinement of the Engine, Slick Gears and Light Clutch which made me take the Impulsive Decision of Owning this instead of KTM 250 which was also available at around the same price then.
Troubles start when you live in a Tier 3 City and buy a Yamaha. Following are the list of issues faced by me with the Dealer Torque Motors Yamaha at Nashik and its Service Center.
PROBLEMS AND HARRASMENT
1) After a Fortnight of Purchase I realized that Rear Tire was Leaking Air and It had to be filled almost every 2 days. It used to drop around 10-12 points in 2 days. - Brought this to the notice of the Dealer. He referred to his workshop InCharge. The Workshop InCharge was strangely in a Denial mode and after leaving the bike there for 2 days he realized that there is an issue. He blamed the tyres and asked me to approach MRF. MRF dealer told me that the problem is not with the tyre but with the Rim. I had become a football and the Dealer, the Workshop and the MRF guy were kicking me out at their will. With no place to go, I eventually purchased a Michelin Tyre at my own expenses and replaced the faulty MRF tyre. In November 2020 I have given the Stock Tyre for replacement to MRF dealer on the behest of Yamaha dealer, today is March 2023, I have not yet received a replacement tyre not the equivalent amount.
2) After 2, 500 kms, the rear brakes started squeaking for which they replaced the Brake pads( strangely at 2500 kms)
3) At 3, 000 kms The front forks started making funny noises which it does even today. These noises cannot be cured by the Service Center maybe to avoid replacing the forks. They tell me it is normal for the forks to sound that funny on applying the brakes. I am 48 and have been riding bikes since I was 18. My first one was a Hero Honda Sleek, then Yamaha rx 100, then Suzuki Shogun, then Enfield Bullet, then Pulsar 220 and now this Defective Dabba. The Dealer only assures but the service center does not deliver.
4) At 5, 000 kms, all hell broke loose. Rear brake pads started squeaking again. This time it was clear that the Pads were not worn out. The Service Center said that the noise was due to some dirt in the brakes and they power-washed the brakes and gave me the bike. Next day same noise started. They refused to acknowledge the noise and only after a heated argument and testimony of another customer, they accepted the noise. They removed the brake pads and checked and fitted them back. Noise was still present. They said maybe the pads are faulty and I should get them replaced. I was startled at losing another 1100 rupees within 1500 kms of replacing the earlier brake pads. I refused and argued. After a lot of convincing and arguing I Finally got a noise-free bike. No, they didnt replace the faulty brake pads with new one, they just put some other brake pads in my bike but not new ones. I leave your imagination to guess where those came from.
5) Finally the biggest issue of all. The bike and me met with a minor accident. Left side Fiber parts 3 pieces below the petrol tank were damaged. ( where fz25 is written). I visited the Service Center in Mid September and placed an order with them for replacement parts. I didnt claim any insurance. I was told that the parts would be arriving in 8 days max. 15 days passed, I was informed that the parts are in transit. after 25 days they informed that parts have arrived. I visited them and they opened the Courier with my parts. They were a mismatch. They had received a 2018 fz25 bike replacement parts. I was furious but couldnt do a thing except returning back home. I was told that correct replacement would be arriving within 8 days on a priority basis. Entire October passed and my parts were still not received by the service center. They blamed Yamaha and I placed a complaint with Yamaha India as well. No response. Mid-November I got a call that replacement parts had arrived. I reached the service center and dropped the bike. they told me to pick it up in the evening. You wont believe me guys, they kept the bike ready in the evening but the parts were again of some other model. I was shocked and I simply asked the service center if they were blind to install such a mismatch without checking.
They apologized and assured me to get my replacement parts within 8 days yet again.
Guys Finally the parts arrived In January, 2023. Yes. You read it Correct. A 2020 Model Bike which shares its parts with 2023 model as well gets its replacement parts from Yamaha after 4 months.
Shame on Yamaha India for being so Idiotic in their dispatch and Choice of Dealerships and Service Centers.
Am so frustrated now that I dont even ride it much.
Not worth guys not worth, look for better options with Bajaj, Hero or KTM for that matter.
Yamaha is no longer what it used to be during the legendary RX100 and RD350 days.
