Its been 1 month since I have bought this bike and the experience is quite impressive. Many of my friends already have Fazer(carburetor model)so I went on to be different and got FZ-s FI.
The new bike from the showroom had a really powerful pickup and a very rough gear toggle which they promised would become soft during the long run of the bike and now I have driven about 700kms and it has become subtle.
You would have probably heard many pros about this bike and I dont want to waste time on it cause most of them are right.Let me tell you about the cons:
1) Since its a FI(fuel injection) it does not have a petrol(on/off/reserve)nozzel and it was a huge deal for me which no one mentioned in their review, Im not complaining about it but I wish I was aware of it.
2) There is no kick starter- which no one really cares about when it comes to FZ/Fazer but there is also a problem with the FI model. If the battery goes down you can not start it by driving the rear wheel in 2nd gear which is possible in the FZ/Fazer carburetor model. Since its Fuel injected you clearly need electricity to start ur bike and if ur out of battery its going to be a bad day for u.
3) It also has a normal battery and not a power pack so they dont recommend to install a central lock or another branded horns YAMAHA threats that it might cause battery loss or self rely malfunction which would not have been a problem it had a kick starter.
4) The Digital Fuel Gauge is really not accurate and its terrible. Atleast if there was a petrol nozzel to determine the reserve point it would have not been a problem and this is also a huge dissappointment.
In conclusion the above mentioned problems are the real deal breaker which I did not read in any review and I was never aware of any single failure this bike has. But more over it is a good bike if u manage to not consider these cons, I would never say not to go for this bike because its a good bike but also know these problems which not anyone has never mentioned.
