Booking for Yamaha’s latest 150cc offering, FZ-S FI Version 2.0 have commenced in metro cities. One can book the new Yamaha FZ-S FI Version 2.0 for a booking amount of Rs 5, 000. Deliveries of the bike will begin by end of July 2014. It was expected that with the launch of the new fuel-injected FZ-series, the old carburetted iterations would be discontinued but according to dealers the Version 2.0 will be an additional variant under the FZ family.
The FZ-S FI Version 2.0 is priced at Rs 78, 250(prices ex-showroom Delhi). At this price point, the fuel-injected version is almost Rs 6, 000 dearer than its carburetted sibling. In terms of styling updates, the new Yamaha FZ and FZ-S FI Version 2.0 sports a split seats, restyled headlamp and tail lamp, tank extensions, new all-digital console and revised muffler.
On the mechanical front, the engine now displaces less and makes less power. Using fuel injection it now develops a max power output of 13.1PS and the peak torque 12.8Nm. Power is transmitted to the rear-wheel via five-speed gearbox. The new powerplant has been equipped with Yamaha’s own Blue Core tech technology which the Japanese two-wheeler giant improves fuel efficiency by 14 per cent by reducing power losses and improving combustion efficiency.
