This is my review about FZS.I have taken new version of FZS(fiery orange) in October 2012. I am feeling very comfort. This is really very good sporty and stylist bike.
Difference between Old FZ and New FZS
Feature NEW FZS(2012 release) OLD FSZ(2011 release)
Engine Torque (13.6 N.m @ 6000 rpm) VS (14 N.m @ 6000 rpm)
Dimension:
Length Width x Height: (1, 973 mm × 770 mm × 1, 090 mm) VS (1, 975mm × 770mm × 1, 045mm)
Kerb weight (135 KG) VS (137 KG)
pros:
Compare to old FZS, there is no more change in the engine spec, but it seems engine is tuned in positive way for better mileage.
Compare to old FZS, new FZS having little wider and longer back seat and new version having well designed grab bar also.
Compare to old FZS, new FZS hiving wide rear fender(mud guard).
New FZS having chain guard.
New FZS wight is reduced by 2 KG compare to old version.
New FZS hight is increased by 45mm(4.5 cm).
Starting pick-up is less, but once you reach 40 Kmph bike will move very smoothly and feeling very very comport.
cons:
Starting pick-up is less.
Fuel meter is not that much accurate.
Service center will charge minimum 350/-(without oil change) in free service.
Mileage:
I am using very smoothly and bike is well mentained. My average speed is 40 km/hr to 60 km/hr. Initially(before service) I got around 35 km/ltr. After first service I getting 42 km/ltr in city.
Its all depends on how you are using the bike(gear, break and clutch).
Finally If you have confusion between Yamaha FZ/FZS, Pulsar 150CC and Apache 160 RTR, you can realy think about Yamaha FZ/FZS. You will realy enjoy the comfortance.
Beast regards,
Arun
