I brought a new Yamaha Fzs on 14th March, 2013. Previously owned a Bajaj Discover 125cc. I have kept my bike speed within 45kmph for first 500kms, within 50kmph for the next 700kms. After overall 1200kms increased the speed limit to 55-60kmph. Mileage I am getting is 42.5kmpl. 500rs shell petrol. 6.88 litres lasts 294kms (includes 70% city and 30% of highway).
Before buying I was as usual worried about mileage. To get an ideal mileage I followed the tips given by my friends who own Yamaha Bikes. Everything else is supercool. I suppose technical details are known to one and all. The rest is Yamaha quality which doesnt need a mention as its taken for granted. Glides through city traffic and cruises on highways. 0 engine vibration. Since I want my bike to last for 2-3 years on an average I wont ride above 65-70kmph.
Always wear a helmet, ride safe and follow lane discipline. Take care.
