Well its been just over a month the shes been with me and Im writing this review out here because I was here checking others when deciding to buy a bike. Just an FYI, my options that I boiled it down to was a Bajaj Avenger and the Yamaha.
No offence guys but the Pulsar range somehow never appealed to me...I was always the cruiser kind of rider; however Yamaha had an edge over that too simply because Yamaha was the bike I learnt to ride on & it was an RX-100-One bike that needs no introduction in our market.
In the end I guess it was the service, respect and proactive attitude of the dealership that helped me decide and truthfully I feel I have made the right choice according to my requirements, likes and dislikes in regards to a motorcycle for myself.
Enigma or Teanna are the names that Im still trying to decide upon for her. Till now I have faced not a problem with her apart from the 1st couple of days. I guess because she was totally new, the accelerator wire needed some use- her engine would start racing everytime I turned the handle- so to all you guys out there who have a brand new baby in your hand and this happens, dont worry, all you need to do is adjust the wire on the side of the handle bar.
On the other hand she has been nothing but smooth as a knife through butter; be it gear changing, pick-up, fuel consumption, comfort, etc.. She had her 1st servicing last weekend and there actually is a difference when I opened her up on the road. During the 1st month, by no means did I stretch her and kept the RPM to 5000 or lower apart from once when the guilty pleasures got to me on a beautiful open road just past midnight and by then she had completed about 450 to 500 kms.
I opened her upto 80 kph and she simply obliged and took me for ride that helped me dream of her at night. There was not a sign of any wobbling, shaking or any jittery feeling whatsoever as has been mentioned by some owners....glad my baby didnt give me that...now that the 1st servicing is complete I did try opening her up expecting the same result; to my surprise she simple purred like a cat asking to be caressed; she sure sounded better and performed with a difference that I noticed immediately after switching her into 5th.
I will update this from time to time...for now let me just ride cause she is asking for it...lol.By the way, following are some things that maybe you guys would prefer in points....hope you enjoyed reading my review and my Baby and me would be happy to answer any questions for you...Take care and ride safe, All the best, CHEERS!!!
Stephen Game
Mileage- 40 plus (following the rules- RPM 5000 or less and not more than 60, prior to 1st servicing)
Comfort- For the rider its perfect; though I wouldnt vouch for the pillion, since on an average or long ride theres bound to be someones bottom aching.
Gear shifting/ changing- No comments- performs as she is supposed to. One more gear would have been great :-D.
Please note that this entire review is based only upon my personal experience and more importantly my way of riding which maybe very different from anyone else and reckless is not in my book of Riding or Riders; however we all do have some guilty pleasures and like any of us- I love a good ride in all aspects.....thats left for you to figure out.
