I had checked all the bikes in this segment, including all the big players in the business.
My budget was around 75, 000-80, 000 Max & was wanting a bike with decent average. I had considered Hero Honda Hunk, Hero hondas CBZ Xtrem, Honda Unicorn, Bajaj Pulsur 150, 180, 200, 220 CC, Bajaj Avenger, yamaha FZ-16.
Once I had a test drive for FZ, I understood that Y people are choosing this even though initial long period of wait time. For Hero Honda Hunk & Honda Unicorn has absolutely same engine , no difference in terms of avegare & pickup as well.
CBZ X-tream is with little bit bright colours & better pick up than Hunk.
Pulsar 150 & 180 are almost the same old bikes , however 200 has got better pick-up but lower Average, but I didnt like the front portion of the bike, its like any other bike. 220 is highly over prices bike, even though its with new Engine technique but not worth.
When I booked (& now riding) FZ-16, everything about it is good compared to all of the above mentioned bike. Yamaha has always been associated with Excellent pick up & FZ-16 is no exception in that. With the wide rear tyre, it gives greater stability whne you need to take a very sharp turn. Also, the speedometer is completely Digital with Orange light in back ground which makes it look good in night & day...
Also, the average is around 40, which I believe is good for any 153cc Bike...
The tyres are tube less, hence it makes it very easy (but bit expensive Rs 100/-) when it gets punctured. The top speed it 120 KPH after which engine automatically stops & bikes starts to go slow. There is also "Engine Fault" indication which makes even lay man (like me) understand that there is engine problem & needs to be supervised by Yamaha Service station.
Also, the back seat is very comfortable compared to the way its looked....
Hence in all the aspects, I choose to make a 76, 000 rs invested in FZ-16 which has excellent look & pick-up.
