When my son first showed me the brochure of the Yamaha fz16 I was highly impressed, decided to buy it for him as he desperately wanted one to travel to college and roam around with his friends, he test drove it and really loved it so I didnt bother to take a test ride which I highly regret today.
Its been 2 months and my son started complaining about the bike so I decided to try it out, the initial pick up is good but it shows lack of power after 60, the noise is pretty funny, not what a bike should sound like.it was very difficult to take it on a slope, the lack of power was very obvious then, the gear shifting is also bad, very rough, I didnt enjoy the ride at all, my hero honda and the good old enfield are so much better, yamaha has just concentrated more on the looks, the comfort level is horrible, also it does not have a kick start, often starting the bike in the mornings is a pain for my son, I am planning to sell this bike soon and buy my son a better bike, do let me know if any new bikes are coming up.
