Ok guys, this is a fully practical reviews made by me for yam FZ16. On 1st Aug, 09 , I got my FZ , on road value Rs 71000/- (Baroda)
I am writing this review after riding around 1500km on it. I have travelled equally on both areas with high traffic density on also on highways. For tech specs ref yamahas website.
This review deals with MILEAGE, POWER, COMFORT LEVEL & HANDLING
MILEAGE:
Ok now some1 said that "You dont enter any yamaha showroom with mileage in your head" yep you heard that right guys.
Average value: 41.2 kmpl (on Shells Unleaded Xtra mileage high octane petrol MRP Rs49.95/lit)Maximum reached 42kmpl.. This calculations were made by me with around 99% of accuracy(by setting up the trip meter on every refill)..believe me guys this is the max value which I got and also compared with my friends value to get you an average value.
POWER:
Excellent torque, but at around 70-75kmph you can fell with the vibs....this wasnt expected by me...with a change in engine oil max @ 6200rpm .u can have a smooth ride but after that the beast roars.
ill rate 3 out of 5 for its power ,
COMFORT LEVELS:
WoW, never rode any bike like this, , the best sitting posture, even with its low center of gravity you can zap your way.
even with its fully automatic ignitions and digital speedo meter , I am still missin a kick and analog rpm meter...keep a check on your battery ........ u will get used to it , great work guys at yam..;)
Just one thing ill say, the rear part is not wide, so might get uncofortable 4 the person at the back...!!
and yep during monsoon season, never ever take your girl friend for a ride on it...especially if it has stopped raining....FZ makes the mud pool over the back of the person sitting...the water drops just swipes up the broad tyre and shits up the situation....lol...
HANDLING:
when it comes to this part , Fzs wide handbar does the trick. Simply awesome, even on high end turns you can apply your body weight, MRF Revz does the trick gr8 handling,
even the monoshock with front wide barrel, make the ride smooth. and gr8
Front disk brakes are very very effective and a combinaiton with rear drum gives u a ultimate control on your speed and brks...
Bumpy roads, wet roads, , , any kinda roads , its nice and previlaged drive...
AND LOOKS...ok you know nothing to discuss about the unrivaled manly beast...yeah..!
