On the right track!!!

First and foremost, after deliberating for a long time, I finally decided to write a review with my limited knowledge about bikes. I bought a Yamaha Type JA 5 months back in Bangalore. This is my first bike ever (though I had an Activa), and what I thought of bikes, and that too the ones from "Yamaha, " did not disappoint me. I actually like it a lot.

After sniffing around websites, friends, and showrooms, I zeroed in on TVS Apache. I negated Bajaj and Suzuki (Heat and Zeus looked bad) from my list, not that its not good; it is just that I just dont like it. I am quite short, and Yamaha bikes namely RX100 and RX135 were quite short, so I thought I would just check the Yami bikes. I went to the Yamaha showroom and this baby caught my eyes. Being a newbie, I really dint know what to look for at first, and after investigating thorougly, I gathered what I could.

After talking to the dealer and he telling me that it is the best bike in its segment and about the 11 bph blah.. blah.., I went on a test ride. I liked it and booked it.

Once I got this bike home, it really felt good. It had a big bike feel. I felt that its pick up was good. I am quite a speed-seeker, so I have more often than not touched the 100-km per hour mark on this bike. It has great road hugging capability. I did crash once on my Activa, so was a little vary, but my Glady sticks to the road. Great road grip. After 2 services now, I feel good that I made a judicious decision by buying this.

Now, after around 5 months in, I hear this knocking sound whenever I shift from 1 gear to second. As somebody suggested, I tried the 10-15 cluth holding-and-releasing method for the cold start and it worked. Now, there is not much of a jerk when during cold start. The knocking sound still persists though when I change from 1 to 2nd gear. My speedo and my KM indicator stopped working because the cable got cut. I will hv it fixed in my next service due at the end of this month. My horn stopped working. Then intermittently started working and now works fine. (Still puzzled how this happened). Though I think the rear wheel could be a bit wider, I am okay with the ones provided by the company.

Because not many of these bikes are on the road, people really stare and look at the bike everytime u make a stop. I love the sound the bike makes at high speeds. It gives an average milage in the range of 48 to 54 (varies) but anything above 50 is good for me. It really pulls u quick from the signal or from a stand still, so great pick up.

Overall feel of the bike - I love it. Every bike has its problems, even this does but not to be not bought. I would recommend this bike to newbies and also people who like people of being looked at.

You can get the tech specs anywhere on the web, so will not dwell much into it.

I definitely do not regret for having bought this bike. With each day passing, I like this bike more.
