Yamaha gladiator enigma

Today, first of all I woukd like to thank mouthshut.com for their excellent cooperation n detailed reviews that had helped me to buy the yamaha’s gladiator enigma. I bought my red gladdy on 18 jan 2009 n since then been an inseperable relation between both of us.

However, I am a complete novice to biking world infact to the two wheelers but still I wud like to give my opinion on this masterpiece

PROS:-

  1. This bike has a very nice feel. Very nice to ride n drive. heart of 125 cc engine but looks of a deadly 150 cc bike.

  2. The brand - YAMAHA speaks above all. the cut-edge technology is nowhere to be found in those tom-dick & harry bajaj n hero honda

  3. Easy on Maintainence - YAMAHA bikes needs servicing every 2500 kms. but thts all ..... no need to worry as maintainence wud be easy on pocket

  4. Control and Handling is superb - all u need to do to make a manouever is use engine compression along with clutch turn the handle n bingo its done

  5. Gear box: - World Class - slick, easy and smooth . Shifting gears is a piece of cake.

  6. braking - one 125 cc bike which has disc brakes in front .... however be careful when applying them as they are extremely sharp n if on high speed n applied suddenly its gonna skid ....

  7. suspension - is quite simple sobre yet effective ..... the telescopic suspension is silk n smooth

  8. seating ..... is awesomelast but not the leastpricing -- this is something that is so unique to this bike - every desirable feature possessed bike can cost u somewhere between 51k to 55kbut costing is so good for this master piece is awesome - Rs.42600/ - on road in ghaziabad....CONSno bike is perfect .....

It has some flaws too.

  1. mileage - yamaha bikes are never known for mileage but reliablity n robustness. my bike’s mileage is around 55 kmpl which is decent but not on par....

  2. relatively less advertisement - a good product cant be sold untill u get clients for it. yamaha for a dont know god damn reeson, is very reluctant to advertise their economic segment bikes - like gladiator, libero, alba, crux n the result is poor market image n negative impact on customer’s mind frame ....

I have seen people nt buying yamaha bikes since it has very less buyers ( my dad thinks same as well n gives me an hour long lecture daily ). this is a result of poor marketing strategy. if yamaha aggressive in their marketing policies - bajaj n hero honda wud ed up.3. lower end torque is missing . first gear runs out of power so quickly ....

Needs frequent gear changeoverall saying , a middleclass bachelor’s ultimate dream - a silent killer - an undercover assassin , , , last bike doing man talk .... yamaha gladiator - of very few words but very strong performeryoursmanashi guysim back again ......

Is been a wonderful journey with yamaha gladiator ...... a nice mean machine solidly built for commuting ..... however my poor driving skills let me down on last sunday ...... actually what happened I was taking a right turn when I saw that ing cyclewallah was standing in the middle of road ... as it was a steep turn therefore to slow down immediately I used disk brakes rather I jammed them .......

And guess what ... the very next moment I was on road bruises allover my elbow n leg .... but for me the most painful thing was scratches on the visor of the bike ...... I cried a little baby when it was not starting after the fall n I bashed up that pervert for standing in between the road even after listening to horn n instructing me how to drive it ..... however I want to ask u one technical thing ....

Since the fall the kick start of bike takes 9-10 kicks to start the bike however earlier it use to be single kick starting bike .... my bike wud be goin for her first tommorow can u plz tell what all things should I look for to done in it ??????
