First of all I am thankful to mouthshut reviews which helped me in taking decisions. When I decided to buy a bike my requirements are as below in sequence: Medium Weight, Comfort Ride, Good Mileage and Pick up. Even I like Unicorn for it’s smooth riding, not in my list just because of it’s weight. Finally short listed Yamaha Gladiator, Honda Shine, Bajaj Discover and bought Gladiator for the Yamaha brand.
Finished 1100 KM and will be giving for 1st Service, getting mileage between 45-50 in city conditions and hope it will increase after service (mostly maintained 40-45kmph for 1st 600Km and 45-50 for 600-1100Kms). Few times crossed 60 and reached 75 to test disc breaks and pickups, but waiting for services to finish to test max speed :-)
Pros: Comfort Ride, Good looks, Average Mileage, Good Disc Break, Smooth at speeds >35
Cons: Have to be careful while riding in sand, because of small back wheel base it is skidding even at low speeds. Some times getting noise. Some times RPM is suddenly raising in 1st and 2nd gears. Pick up is average, expected little bit more. Will post more details after service and reaching 2400kms.
