I am happy to review the bike Yamaha gladiator SS (now ss125), I got my bike in sept 2008 clocking 15, 000km and till now have been using it with no problems. I am thoroughly satisfied with the bike. I have just maintained the bike with regular service so I guess that too have played some part for such good performance till now.
Regular service up to 10 service then I have increased the service interval to ~6 months still its been doing superb. The mileage I think I am getting around 55km/l.., mostly I ride ~60km/h and above so I guess the mileage is good for a 125 cc bike. only the past month I replaced the battery after 2 years (actually old battery was fine just that sometimes in cold it was not starting as easily as before..so got it changed, now working great).
The ride position is really good, feels extremely comfortable, but may be too long ride I sometimes get little stiff neck..may be its common with all bikes I guess. All in all I would recommend it for anyone, I think person with good hight will feel the bike to compliment their height. The gear shifts are very good, and good to shift the gears fast in city riding conditions. I find myself riding mostly ahead of other bikers because of the fast gearshifts. (only thing is once gearshifts become familiar its really great fun to ride the 5 speed geared bike). Also I like the old speedo and tacho meter in the analog ones more exciting than the digital display coming in all the new bikes. I have gone uptill 95km/h and felt it to be good..just did get the opportunity to go above it..may be it could have touched 100 km/h I guess. I am sure the new ss125 has same specifications other than the change in the color schemes. But I still like the old red/black colour scheme of gladiator SS. hope this review helps anyone out there looking for a new bike. Wishing you the best rides in the world. YESYAMAHA!!!
