I am writing this review from Chennai.I purchased my Yamaha Libero in Mar’04 and had completed 10000 km just now.The bike was purchased from Lakshmi Motors , Adyar.
Before that I start writing the review, One important message for all new buyers of Yamaha bikes from Chennai.Don’t ever buy the bike from LAKSHMI MOTORS.
They would cheat you like anything.More ever the service which they would screw up the bike.
My bike’s bore was replaced during the second service (within 60 days of the purchase).Also they changed the headlight of the vehicle while delivering which I came to know very recently.I was told about this by another dealer.
They did not give the discount when I purchased the bike (The discount offer of Rs .3000/- was there at that time).
The second culprit is Ragavendra Motors , Chrompet.I sent the bike for service to them assuming that they are better than Lakshmi Motors.The problem for which I sent was ’’The bike had severe pick up / starting problem’’.It was serviced and I did not have the problems after that.But the milage was 15kmpl after the service.Later we found that the jet was enlarged to rectify the defect.Will any quality service people do like this ?
Later I gave it to PARAS YAMAHA and it was serviced well. Now my bike is free from all problems.I am getting 50 - 55 Kmpl milage.
Yamaha Libero is not that bad as a product .The main factor is the servicing people and our riding style.
