The 2016 Yamaha R15 was the first 150cc sportsbike that was launched by Yamaha in India. At the time of the launch, R15 was the most technological advanced bike on sale, with a liquid-cooled, 4-valve single overhead camshaft engine that produced 17 bhp and was mated to a six-speed gearbox. Other features include an aerodynamically designed full body fairing, Deltabox twin-spar frame, linked type rear mono-shock suspension, and an aluminium swingarm. All these help the bike in its cornering ability and stability at high speed. Stopping power is offered by disc brakes on the front and rear wheels, while the 5-spoke alloy wheels that help in reducing unsprung mass come as standard fitment. The latest variant of the bike, dubbed comes with a stepped pillion seat, LED tail-lights and a wider 130-section rear tyre.
