I clearly remember that day when i choose r15 as my first bike... I had many options like pulsar220, apache rtr 180, karizma r..(not zmr!! As, i don’t like it much) but never thought about r15 when my father told me to "get ready for a new bike!!" i was so happy and started dreaming to have one of above these.
First of all, i drove pulsar 220, but can’t convince my self with it’s reliability, and poor quality..( as i heard each and every person crying with these issues, who owns this bike )and it has just a mad power-nothing more.
Second one in my mind was apache rtr 180...so, i went to the showroom with my friend, and i asked for the test ride but i got a surprise answer from the salesperson-"sorry, sir we haven’t enough petrol in our test ride vehicle"- we totally got shocked by hearing this kind of answer!! But lately he transferred some petrol from his scooty to apache 180, and after waiting a while i took a ride...overall a good bike. But, still can’t get what i wanted!!
Pulsar and apache made me really unhappy, as i expected much but can’t got anything. Lately, i took a test ride of karizma r, obviously a good bike.so, decided to go for karizma r..with some wired feelings-thinking that such an ordinary bike..but decided to go for booking of a new one on second day but, on that night my close friend came with his one day old bike, no other then yamaha yzf r15!!!!!!
He wanted to give me surprise!!!- and i really got surprised after driving a bike

My happiness came back with his surprise! After driving his bike for a week ( i got 42kmpl on his angel)i decided to go for yamaha r15 in racing blue color!!!(....and obviously didn’t book karizma after riding r15.)
Now it’s my review after using it for 14 monthes....
I clocked 10, 060 km with 2 time changing super synthetic oil..
-4 services done!, and yamaha guys really rocks..they provided me an awesome service
-gives 37-40 kmpl approx (pulsar 220 gives just 25-30kmpl)
-owning r15 puts me claas a part with it’s image
-never got starting issue even in winter-awesome battery
-one can feel a quality of a bike-color shines as well as a new one (i have to usually park it in skin burn sunshine!)-engine sounds awesome(not like pulsars!!)
-breaks are awesome!! Saved me so many times..
-awesome pick up, but honestly less then pulsar 220-but can easily beat up p220 or karizma in race
-negatives --narrow rear tyre, little high maintenance in compare of other bikes, high price...
Who can buy???
-who can spend nearly 1000-1200rs in an ordinary service
-who can afford with it’s high price
-a guy who is not 6 feet long...(as it has uncomfortable riding style for tall)
-who wants a real quality product
-who wants to use it in city ride only
After all, I’m totally satisfied with Yamaha product. Some people thinks Yamaha bikes have high maintenance.but, mark my word-quality never comes with cheap price tag..and i feels quality on every morning while I go on my angel at my collage :)
