The Accurate RX 100 Details

Hi my name is Alok and I live in mumbai and have also written a review on my RD-350 on this site

I also own a first lot RX-100 (made in japan) I have been reading reviews of this bike on this site and am shocked at the lack of information displayed by the owners of this fine motorcycle...

You will see lots of Cr*p about the first lot being 125cc and 12.5 bhp and that is all wrong. Well here goes the truth as I know it..

The RX 100 was launched in India Mid-Late 1986 it was derived from a 125cc 5-speed 13 bhp bike but en routwe to india it was detuned to 100 cc (probably a reduction in bore) and EXACTLY 11 Bhp nothing more or less...

Later bikes may have Japanese components in them but ONLY bikes manufactured in 1986 were made in Japan and assembled in india below is a list of the differences in the bikes

1>       SpeedoFirst lot bikes sported a 140kmph speedo meter that read ’’Rajdoot’’ on both the casing and the dial and was manufactured by Yenkay as opposed to the later lots that had casings that read ’’Escorts’’ or ’’Yamaha’’ and were manufactured by Pricol

2>       Made in JapanFirst lot bikes also have the words ’’Made in Japan’’ just above the gear shift lever

3>       ’’Rajdoot’’brandingCertain components like the circular cover over the oil pump have Rajdoot embossed on the inside as opposed to Escorts in the later models also the magnetto has the Yamaha Logo on it as opposed to Escorts

4>       Misc changes first lot bikes had ’’Rajdoot’’ embossed on both the tail lamp and indicator lenses also there are unconfirmed reports that the earlier bikes had different gearboxes

And that my friends is the REAL story

will make more additions when more detals found
