I’m not going to share with you any technical details of this legendary bike coz I’m sure that it must’ve been discussed with you over and over again. I just feel the urge to share my feelings with you, the feeling of joy and sheer happiness that this bike evokes in me, every time I ride it.
RX 100 has such simple yet graceful looks that for a moment you could be mistaken into thinking that this 100cc bike belongs to an era long forgotten. But once you get the engine kicking, this bike ROARRRRRRRS !! The trademark and soul-satisfying noise of the silencer stills turns many heads on the street. The moment I revv it up in the mornings, children on the streets look somewhat curiously and appreciatingly with a hope in their eyes that someday soon, when they grow up, they will ride one of these and become the self-acclaimed king of the roads.
I don’t need to talk much about the handling of the bike coz it handles like a dream. I cut through the early morning office going traffic in style, passing between stationary cars, waving good bye to the awful trucks that hold the traffic, not knowing where to go in the first place. I manage to zoom past the ordinary traffic and the fellow bikers look at me in awe. Often, people come to me and tell me how lucky I am to have this bike. They all agree that this bike was the GREATEST EVER produced in INDIA !
I take care of it like my own baby. Touchwood, God has been by my side so far and I haven’t faced any real accidents. I tank it up and forget about filling it up for another week. My RX 100 bike gives me immense satisfaction and I wouldn’t trade it for anything else in this world. I was told that this bike could fetch me a handsome amount if I sold it now. My bike is 1991 model and was bought for Rs 26000/- then. I would not sell it even if someone offers me Rs 60000.
Its a pity that it isn’t being manufactured anymore ! For those of you who haven’t ridden on it, I wouldn’t say much except that YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT YOU’RE MISSING !
Yamaha RX 100 is as good as bikes can be ! Get hold of one and you’ll know what I mean !
