They should never have replaced RX100

I still regret the day I made the big mistake of going in for the RX135 after selling my RX100 which I had for 10 good years. Like many others, I’d expected superior performance when the new version (with a bigger engine, of course) from Yamaha - but was disappointed!

My bike is 3 years old and has clocked 21000 kms. But the tires need replacement already (Dunlop), the engine required opening up (for some kind of a noise - which most of the dealers in Chennai couldn’t diagnose), mileage has dropped to 25-30 kmpl.... the list is pretty long (wonder if I might have the patience to write all of them down).

The RX135 never has the acceleration and pick-up of the RX100 and the engine emanates all kinds of additional noise. Electricals are bad (I’m running without a battery) and the brakes lose their grip very soon, making it pretty unstable. You would do well if the tyres were replaced with slightly bigger ones - which I incidentally plan to do now.

On top of all this - you might be wondering why I still have this bike. Well, you know, it’s that feeling of ... what do I say? Affection? As I still love my old RX100 and I’m keeping the RX135 because of that? I really don’t know!
